Snail Roll Bread Zari Haghighi
INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 tsp yeast
1 cup milk
4 tbsp unsalted butter
melted
2 tbsp sugar
2 eggs
beaten
4 1/4 cups bread flour
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp melted butter to glaze.
PREPARATION
STEP 1
sprinkle the yeast into 1/2 cup of the milk in a bowl. let stand for 5 minutes.
Warm the remaining milk in a saucepan with the butter and sugar. stir the butter has melted. Cool until lukewarm, then beat in the eggs until evenly combined.
STEP 2
Mix the four and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre and pour in the dissolved yeast and the butter mixture. Mix in the flour to form a soft, sticky dough.
STEP 3
Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface.
knead until smooth about10 minutes.
cover with a dish towel and let rest until doubled in size.
STEP 4
Divide the dough into 16 pieces. Roll each piece of dough into a 10-inch rope and form into a coil, tucking under the end.
Preheat the oven to 425F, bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden.
